In early November, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced that it had provided the authorities of the countries involved with information about Russian citizens who had applied for evacuation from the Gaza Strip. Later, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said in a telephone conversation with Palestinian Minister of Civil Affairs Hussein al-Sheikh about the need to immediately evacuate Russians from the Gaza Strip, as well as the need to increase the volume of humanitarian aid entering the Gaza Strip.

The diplomat explained that due to Cairo restrictions, about 500-600 people are allowed to pass through the Rafah checkpoint on the border of the enclave with Egypt. Zakharova called this statement by the diplomat shocking. According to her, on the Russian side everything is ready for evacuation.
