The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova on Tuesday in her telegram channel toldthat Evgenia Chirikova, who led two environmental movements in the Moscow region, fled to Taiwan.
Zakharova recalled that “Chirikova wrote petitions, spoke in the media, went to rallies.” The diplomat also drew attention to the motto that the oppositionist shouted at one of the rallies in Moscow in 2012: “We will not go anywhere, because this is our land.”
Zakharova noted that “it would seem that with such a motto she would not understand the inhabitants of Donbass.” However, Chirikova moved to Estonia in 2015.
And now she, according to Zakharova, “is fighting for” her lands “in Taiwan.”
The representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry also said that recently a pro-Western international NGO, the World Movement for Democracy, had recently held “another get-together” on the island. And Evgenia Chirikova at this event “was one of the speakers of the panel “Assessment by civil society of the challenges of our time”.
