Illegal activity stopped – Moskovskaya Pravda

Employees of the Federal Security Service of Russia for the city of Moscow and the Moscow Region (hereinafter referred to as the Directorate), in cooperation with the Center for Economic Crimes of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Moscow, suppressed the criminal activities of a cell of the international religious extremist organization At Takfir Wal-Hijra (banned on the territory of the Russian Federation).

As a result of the verification activities carried out, residents of the Moscow region were identified who held meetings and disseminated the teachings of the specified extremist organization, recruited and involved new adherents in it.

On the basis of the materials submitted by the Department of the Main Investigative Committee of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the city of Moscow, a criminal case was initiated against these persons under Part 2 of Art. 282.2 of the Criminal Code of Russia “Participation in the activities of an extremist organization.” As part of his investigation, Russian FSB officers detained 6 members of an extremist organization in Moscow, Voronezh and the Republic of Dagestan.

During searches in the places of residence of the detainees, religious literature of extremist content was found, as well as other items testifying to their adherence to radical directions of religion.

Law enforcement agencies carry out operational and investigative measures to establish all the circumstances of the crime.
