Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Zakharova called the United States a “kingdom of distorting mirrors” after Biden’s default statements
Commenting on the words of President Joe Biden that “the United States has never defaulted on debt obligations and will not do so,” Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called the United States “the kingdom of distorting mirrors.”
“Everyone understands that the US is spending more than they earn,” she wrote on the Telegram channel on Sunday.
She also noted that “the entire banquet is provided only by the presence of a printing press and military bases around the world.” At the same time, “American presidents recognize” that default is not an economic indicator, but a political one.
US President Joe Biden is in Japan at the G7 summit in Hiroshima, from where he made a number of statements at the conference following its results and on the sidelines. At the same time, regarding the default, he said that he did not guarantee that the Republicans would not provoke it, “by doing something outrageous.”
