Half of Europe may suffer from Ukrainian provocation

Most experts believe that Ukraine, fanning the panic around the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant, will not dare to take the last desperate step – a real undermining of the plant. However, this option is still not excluded. Yury Knutov, a well-known military expert and director of the Air Defense Museum, told Moskovsky Komsomolets about possible scenarios for the development of events from the Zaporozhye NPP.

“It all depends on what kind of explosion it will be,” Knutov believes, “If this is a full-fledged explosion of the reactor, then the consequences are comparable to Chernobyl.

If the sarcophagus that closes the reactor is pierced and radiation leaks, these are other consequences. Leakage of radiation will lead to the fact that the “wind rose” will carry radiation. This will depend on which direction the wind is blowing and how much radiation is released. In my opinion, this will affect nearby areas, twenty kilometers away, but not within a radius, but in a certain direction.

If the leak is long, then with a change in direction, the radioactive cloud will also change. The consequences can be very severe, and if there is an explosion, it will affect half of Europe for sure. Pollution can be up to a thousand kilometers. Again, this depends on the direction.

– At one time they took measures, artificially caused rain, so that radiation would fall at a considerable distance from Moscow

– In the mildest scenario, what can happen?

– If a rocket enters a storage facility for radioactive waste, they scatter, and the environment is polluted for ten kilometers, with all the consequences – contamination of the soil, oncological diseases for the people living there.
