This was told in the administration of the city of Kursk. In Chekhov, near Moscow, the All-Russian weightlifting tournament for the prizes of Olympic champion Dmitry Berestov was held. Kuryan Nikita Molchanov participated in them.
Without exaggeration, his results can be called brilliant – the 13-year-old weightlifter not only won a gold medal in the 35 kg weight category, but also set three Russian records. Approaches: snatch – 51 kg, clean and jerk – 63 kg and the combined total of 114 kg are still unsurpassed.
Another representative of the Nightingale Territory achieved high results in these competitions. Or rather, a representative. Nikita Molchanov’s sister, 9-year-old Varvara, won the bronze medal among girls in the 29 kg weight category.
