Young volleyball players from the Nizhny Novgorod and Vologda regions took away the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug Governor’s Cups

On the evening of September 17, the winners of the Yamal Governor’s Cup 2023 in volleyball among young athletes were determined in the gas capital. The tournament participants were congratulated by the Governor of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug Dmitry Artyukhov. The details were provided by the press service of the head of the Arctic region.
“Volleyball has become an integral part of the sports life of Yamal, and our gas capital is already laying claim to the status of a volleyball city. I thank all the teams for the sports holiday that you presented to Novy Urengoy. Special words of gratitude to our friends from Belarus and Bulgaria. Well done for coming, sport, especially for children, unites, it has no boundaries,” the governor said.
The winner among girls was the team from the Vologda region, Bulgaria came in second place, and Moscow came in third.
Among the boys, the gold of the tournament was won by the guys from the Nizhny Novgorod region, the Yamal team took silver, and the bronze went to Belarus.
Dmitry Artyukhov presented the winners with cups, which this year were made in a new design – in the form of a modernized airport in the gas capital.
Let us remind you that six men’s and the same number of women’s teams from Moscow, Vologda, Kaliningrad, Nizhny Novgorod regions, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug and Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Belarus and Bulgaria played 30 games in five days. Event was organized at the Zvezdny Sports Palace.
