On September 17, the opening of the region’s first sports society, “Fakel,” took place in Novy Urengoy. This was reported in the press service of the governor of the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
The society was created on behalf of the head of Yamal Dmitry Artyukhov. It united the Fakel volleyball club, a mini-football team from the gas capital and hockey players of the National Youth Hockey League from Salekhard. All of them represent the Yamal-Nenets Autonomous Okrug at all-Russian level competitions.
