Young Sakhalin skiers opened the season with competitions on Mount Parkovaya

The regional alpine skiing competition “Opening of the Season” among athletes U10 (8-9 years old) and U12 (10-11 years old) was held on January 14-15 on Mount Parkovaya in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk. About 180 young skiers from the island region and Vladivostok took part in the competition. This year it is already 41 starts in the history of SShOR athletes.
Athletes 8-9 years old competed in the giant slalom. Among girls, Yulia Demeshina (47.40), Anastasia Aleyeva (47.41) and Sabrina Nimatova (47.60) showed the best results. In boys, Andrei Dudko (43.42), Mikhail Redkozubov (44.70) and Egor Belyakov (44.90) were in the lead.
On the second day of the competition, athletes aged 10-11 competed for the championship in the giant slalom. The best girls were Anna Kustova (1:23.42), Elena Demeshina (1:23.79) and Daria Kapelyush (1:25.54). Among the boys in the top three are Alexander Misyura (1:24.04), Stepan Chernogolov (1:24.78), Artem Teslenko (1:27.60).
