In Germany, they refused to issue visas to Russian rowers to participate in the European Championship for youth under 23 years old. Thus, young athletes will miss the competition. This was stated in the Russian Rowing Federation.

The press service of the organization noted that the applications for participation in the competitions were accepted by the organizing committee. Russian rowers are even on the list of participants. Alexander Yakovlev, Anastasia Lyubich, Oleg Dudko and Ivan Kladov were supposed to represent our country in the competition.

“Germany did not open visas for us, unfortunately, we will not go to the European Championship,” the organization quoted the head coach of the Russian national team Alexander Zyuzin as saying. “All declared participants will go to the open championship of Belarus among youth under 23 years old.”

The European Rowing Championships will be held from 25 to 27 August in Krefeld, Germany. Competitions in Belarus will start a day earlier: the competitions will be held from 24 to 26 August.
