Belarusian football coach Viktor Goncharenko has become the new coach of Ural Yekaterinburg. He took over the team after Igor Shalimov left from there, under which the Urals scored only one point in five rounds of the RPL.
According to the press service of the club in telegramchannel, the appointment was announced on Monday by club president Grigory Ivanov. According to him, the team was headed by one of the best specialists in the country. The contract was signed for two years.
Viktor Goncharenko began his coaching career at the Belarusian BATE. In 2013, he came to Russia, where he headed the Krasnodar “Kuban”. From June to September 2015, he worked at Ural, and then at Ufa. In addition, Goncharenko was the head coach of CSKA Moscow, with whom he became the owner of the Russian Super Cup, twice became the silver medalist of the RPL, and also reached the quarterfinals of the Europa League. From April 2021 to January 2022, he worked at Krasnodar.
