Yaroslavl “Lokomotiv” lost to “Spartak” at home

The team of the Yaroslavl hockey club “Lokomotiv” on Monday, February 12, hosted the capital’s “Spartak”.

After the victories won at the end of January and first place in the Western conference standings, Lokomotiv fans hoped for a victory for the team. Moreover, in confrontations with Spartak, the Yaroslavl “railroad workers” more often won than they lost.

But the dreams were not destined to come true. Spartak opened the scoring in the first period in the first minute of the match, winning a throw-in. After 5 minutes, Tesanov equalized the score with a pass from Alekseev. But this goal remained Lokomotiv’s only goal in the match. In the second period, the guests increased their lead by another 2 goals. And at the end of the third the score on the scoreboard was 1-5.

Despite the disastrous defeat, Lokomotiv retains second place in the West conference table. And CSKA is still in 7th place. This means that the capital’s army team will still become opponents in the first round of the playoffs. Lokomotiv will play the last match of the regular season on Thursday, February 15. The opponent will be CSKA.
