The company noted that dozens of drivers received fake orders, and thus the attackers tried to disrupt the service on the morning of September 1. “Drivers spent about 40 minutes in traffic due to fake orders. The issue of compensation will be resolved as soon as possible. Now taxi cars have already left the congestion area and are fulfilling orders as usual,” Yandex said. They added that the security service promptly eliminated the attempt to create an artificial congestion of cars, and “the algorithm for detecting and preventing such attacks has already been improved.”
Since the beginning of Russia’s special operation in Ukraine, the websites of Russian departments, government agencies, the media and companies have been regularly subjected to cyberattacks. On February 26, the Ministry of Digital Transformation announced the “unprecedented scale” of DDoS attacks on the websites of the Kremlin, the government, the State Duma, as well as Channel One and Roscosmos. On May 9, the Russian video hosting Rutube was subjected to the largest hacker attack in the history of the company, the service remained unavailable for several days. June 23 at the Ministry of Digital Development reportedthat the Public Services were attacked, and at peak moments the load on the portal was up to 340,000 requests per second.
