“Advertisers will get new advertising inventory, and channel owners will get a simple and transparent way to make money on advertising. You can monetize a channel even if it has a narrow theme or is just starting to gain popularity,” the representative office said.

Posts with ads will be published using a bot developed by the company itself. It is clarified that the author will only need to grant the right to publish a message to the bot.

“The ad looks like a regular post: with a picture or video and a link <...> The post must include the tag “Advertisement” and a link to a page with details about the advertiser,” the press service added. Texts, images and videos will be moderated, and advertising data will be transferred to the Unified Register of Internet Advertising (ERIR).

The Association of Bloggers and Agencies (ABA) and the digital agency Social Mind in their joint study reported that the advertising revenue of the top ten author’s Telegram channels in January-June 2023 increased by 2.7 times compared to the same period in 2022 to 301, 7 million rubles

It was noted that one of the main reasons for the growth in the income of authors in Telegram was that bloggers began to “overtake” their audience from the Meta social networks (recognized as extremist and banned in Russia), which were blocked after the start of the special operation in 2022, to the messenger.
