Yakut wrestlers received ten medals at the international tournament in Minsk

The 52nd international freestyle wrestling Grand Prix tournament was held in Minsk on November 26-27. The athletes competed for the prizes of three-time Olympic champion Alexander Medved.
The national team of Yakutia achieved a historical maximum – according to the results of the tournament, the athletes were awarded ten awards of various denominations, including two medals that went to the team of the Republic of Belarus. Legionnaires from Yakutia Nurgun Skryabin, winner of the gold medal, and Andrey Bekrenev, winner of the bronze medal, brought awards to the hosts of the competition.
Seven athletes and one female athlete distinguished themselves in the Yakut team – Liliana Rozhina, who demonstrated the third result in the weight category up to 72 kg in women’s wrestling.
Alexander Avelov won the first gold medal in the weight category up to 61 kg with a score of 6:0. Andrey Bekrenev received bronze in the same weight category.
During the final bout in the weight category up to 65 kg, Nurgun Scriabin defeated Danil Kharchilav with a minimal score.
Yakut wrestlers Konstantin Kaprinov, Maxim Tolmachev and Eduard Maximov also won the fight for bronze medals.
