The Kuban State University team began its performance in the Grand Final of the National Student Football League. The final tournament in the Igor Gamula Super League takes place in Essentuki with the participation of the 4 strongest teams of the season on November 27-29.
KubSU ahead of schedule, based on the results of the regular season, provided gold medals for yourself. In Essentuki, Alexey Gerasimenko’s team does not depend on the results. And the rest of the participants are fighting for silver and bronze awards. In the first game, the Krasnodar team lost to the Crimean Federal University, from which they took the championship title. The result of the meeting is 1:0 in favor of KFU. Maxim Suprun scored the winning goal in the 65th minute. At the same time, from the 33rd minute, KubSU played in the majority after the Crimeans were sent off, but never managed to score.
KFU takes second place with 24 points. KubSU has 31 tournament points.
The Krasnodar team still has games against two teams from Rostov-on-Don – SFU and DGPU, they have 22 and 21 tournament points, respectively.
It also became known that KubSU was the first to confirm its participation in the new NSFL season, which will be the anniversary. In the 10th edition of the country’s strongest student league, Krasnodar will host the opening tournament and the Grand Final.
