Writer Eduard Bagirov buried in the Nizhny Novgorod region

The funeral of the writer Eduard Bagirov was held at a rural cemetery in the Nizhny Novgorod region. He was buried next to his maternal relatives, the district administration said.
“The coffin with the body of Eduard was brought from Moscow this morning, after which the funeral took place. He was buried in a rural cemetery near the village of Goritsy,” the administration told RIA Novosti.
Eduard Bagirov died April 12 at the age of 47. According to blogger Ilya Varlamov (included by the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation in the register of foreign agents), the writer was in a coma for a week after all his organs were denied. April 14 at the Troekurovsky cemetery took place farewell ceremony with Mr. Bagirov.
Eduard Bagirov is the author of the novels The Guest Worker, The Lovers and The Idealist. In 2002, together with the writer Sergei Minaev, he founded the literary portal litprom.ru, since 2005 he has been its editor-in-chief. Mr. Bagirov was also a confidant of Vladimir Putin in the 2012 elections, in 2016 he ran for the State Duma from the Patriots of Russia party. In 2022, he became the host of the author’s program on Radio Sputnik (took the frequency of the closed Ekho Moskvy radio station).
