The Year of the Teacher and Mentor continues to change the vector of development of Russian education for the better both for all its participants and for the development of our country. One of the significant achievements, which is highly appreciated by everyone – the parent community, the teaching community, social activists, and officials – our schools have returned the educational function. And the main role here is given to advisors to directors for education and interaction with children’s public associations, which have appeared in Russian educational institutions and have already proven themselves to be excellent. It is obvious that indifferent and incompetent performers cannot occupy these positions; the responsibility is too great. “MK” found out what kind of people they are, people of modern times, who have been entrusted with raising our children.

The appearance of advisors to directors in Russian educational institutions has become a critical component in the formation of a unified educational environment. In his annual address to the Federal Assembly, Russian President Vladimir Putin said this: “Specialists should come to school who will become real assistants to class teachers, mentors and educators, who will be organizers of exciting, interesting projects for children at school.”

Today, a project is being successfully implemented within the framework of the national project “Education” – called “Childhood Navigators”, which trains advisors to directors for education, as well as the All-Russian competition of the same name to select candidates for this position. The slogan of “Childhood Navigators” speaks for itself: “We are childhood navigators, a large team of advisors to directors on education and interaction with children’s public associations, which looks at education in a new way and works with children according to the call of the heart.”





Over the three years of project implementation, the professional community of Childhood Navigators has grown to 33 thousand specialists. Such educators work today in more than 25,000 Russian schools.

“The advisor to the director for education, together with teachers, helps schoolchildren and students discover new prospects for their personal development, including through participation in federal projects and programs,” said MK Director of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Rosdetcenter” Alexander Kudryashov. – Children are involved in socially useful activities. Today, more than ever, it is important to listen and hear our children, understand and feel them, and build a constructive dialogue with them. Principal advisors have become part of school management teams.

According to Kudryashov, this position is of most interest to students of pedagogical universities today. 30% of the number of working advisers to the director are young people from 21 to 35 years old. For young professionals, this is an excellent start to a teaching career. Trainee teachers also take up the position of adviser to the director of education – 36% of specialists have more than 15 years of teaching experience.

“In any case, we see that this position is occupied by caring, active people, many of whom have experience interacting with children’s public associations, experience as a classroom teacher, experience as a counselor,” emphasized the director of the Federal State Budgetary Institution “Rosdetcenter”.

As you know, you can take this position at school by passing the All-Russian competition “Navigators of Childhood”. The purpose of the competition is to train specialists of a new generation in the field of education.

“MK” spoke with parents who are familiar with the activities of educational directors’ advisors at their school.

– Nowadays there are few teachers with sparkling eyes and a desire to teach and share experiences with children. But they exist! – says the mother of seven children (three of whom are schoolchildren) from Ulyanovsk, Ekaterina Verkheeva. – And once you fall into the hands of such a teacher, you can say that life is good! And you can be calm about your children. Our adviser to the director of education at school No. 66 in the city of Ulyanovsk, Alexandra Lukyanova, is exactly such a person. She runs the school’s social network, and with her arrival, our social network has noticeably brightened up! Together with teachers and children, she prepares various competitions, and also works closely with the “First Movement” and “Eaglets of Russia”.





No one will deny that modern children are a completely different generation. Bright, creative, to some extent “wild”. They need a different approach to education. And our advisor to the director does an excellent job with this. She is young and friendly, so she keeps up with the times with the children. After all, it is not so easy to impart the foundations of traditional values ​​into those who seem to speak a different language. I believe that every principal’s advisor should become a friend and mentor to children. Be proactive, creative, open to the new and unknown together with restless guys!
