Winter tires have become mandatory in Russia

The use of winter car tires has become mandatory in Russia since December 1, RIA Novosti reports with reference to Irina Volk, a representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.
As noted, winter tires must be used on all passenger cars with a capacity of no more than eight seats. The same requirement applies to trucks weighing no more than 3.5 tons.
Corresponding changes to traffic rules came into effect on December 1
As Volk reported, this norm will last throughout the winter period – December, January, February.
