Wings founder Danny Lane has passed away

Danny Lane, founder and regular member of British rock band Wings, has died at the age of 79. This was announced by the musician’s wife Elizabeth Hines, Sky News reported.
“My dear husband passed away peacefully early this morning. I was by his side, holding his hand and singing his favorite Christmas songs for him,” Hines said.
Lane had been singing Christmas carols in recent weeks, his wife said. She continued to sing them while the musician was in the intensive care unit on a ventilator.
Wings was founded in 1971 by Paul McCartney, his wife Linda McCartney and Danny Lane after the breakup of The Beatles. Over the ten years of its existence, the band has released nine albums that reached the top of the UK and US charts. The band stopped performing in 1981 due to the murder of John Lennon, which shocked McCartney and forced him to pull out of concerts due to safety concerns.
