Wildberries may introduce an option to confirm an order using Touch ID and Face ID

The Wildberries marketplace plans to launch an option for additional order confirmation using Touch ID and Face ID technologies, reported in the press service.

“The online platform is developing functionality for additional order confirmation in the application to minimize the possibility of “accidental” orders on other devices by family members or third parties,” the message says.

The function is going to be implemented in order to “not put parents in an awkward position in front of a child waiting for an order he made himself.” The company talked about a case where a child placed an order for 250,000 rubles.

“Within a month, Wildberries will launch a new option in the application, which can be activated at will. Among the options for additional order confirmation are a pin code, as well as Touch ID and Face ID technologies (and their analogues on Android),” the press service concluded.

In March, Wildberries together with partners began test courier delivery of oversized goods. Then delivery of furniture, tools and plumbing fixtures became available on the marketplace for residents of Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kaluga, Tula and Ryazan regions.

In the spring, Vedomosti with reference to a representative of Wildberries wrotethat the marketplace will begin selling smartphones, TVs and refrigerators under its own private label. According to the publication’s interlocutor, the cost of products will be “in the middle price segment.”
