The World Health Organization (WHO) is unable to contact its staff and medical facilities located in the Gaza Strip, which Israel continues to attack. WHO Director General Tedros Adhan Ghebreyesus announced this on his page on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
“We have lost contact with our staff in Gaza, with medical facilities, medical workers and the rest of our humanitarian partners on the ground,” Ghebreyesus wrote.
He called for immediate protection of all civilians, as well as their access to humanitarian assistance.
In addition, the director general of the organization emphasized that due to the intensive IDF rocket attacks on Gaza, it is not possible to evacuate the sick or find safe places for them. In addition, Ghebreyesus added that due to a power outage in the region, ambulances cannot reach the wounded.
