The World Health Organization (WHO) has asked China to step up its anti-coronavirus measures. A corresponding statement was published on the organization’s website following a meeting with a delegation from China.
The organization also considers it necessary to intensify the exchange of data on the epidemiological situation and vaccination. WHO promised China support in the fight against coronavirus and called for more active interaction with experts.
Since the beginning of December, China has gradually begun to relax measures to combat coronavirus, despite the fact that they were one of the most stringent in the world. Against this background, an increase in the incidence of COVID-19 is recorded in China, the status of which, from January 8, the Chinese authorities decided to transfer from class “A”, which includes especially dangerous diseases, to less dangerous class “B”.
In response to China’s measures, many countries have tightened controls for passengers arriving from China.
