White House confirms use of U.S. cluster munitions by Ukrainian Armed Forces

The Ukrainian army has been using cluster munitions sent to it by the United States for about a week now. This was announced on Thursday, July 20, by the coordinator for strategic communications at the White House National Security Council, John Kirby.
According to the speaker of the American Security Council, feedback has already been received from the Ukrainian side – Kyiv assures that it uses cluster munitions “quite effectively.”
Kirby also assured that the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) use this type of ammunition “properly”, but did not specify.
At the same time, the official said that the United States intends to adjust support for Ukraine’s counteroffensive in accordance with Kyiv’s requests. According to him, the collective West reacted most attentively to all Kyiv’s requests “not only for tools and armaments,” but also for the training of personnel on the eve of the counteroffensive.
Earlier, Hero of Russia, Major General of Aviation Sergei Lipovoy said that the best way to deal with cluster munitions supplied by the United States to the Ukrainian side is destruction of their places of storage. He suggested that Russian intelligence was already doing this, and also expressed his conviction that Kyiv would receive a harsh response for the use of such ammunition.
