“White Angel” by Yulia Rutberg

In the art gallery of the People’s Artist of the USSR, Academician of the Russian Academy of Arts A. M. Shilov, a dialogue was held with the audience Yulia Rutberg in the solo performance “Cabaret” Stray Dog “from the cycle” Stars Visiting the Shilov Gallery.

“The Stray Dog Cabaret is the name of the unity and form of content. In this program, I usually take on two roles: actress Yulia Rutberg and human Yulia Rutberg. At the beginning of the program, I always tell the audience: “Since this is a cabaret and there is no fourth wall, I beg you not to turn off your mobile phones and, when the bell rings, we, of course, will stop the performance and listen to what you are talking about,” this is how the Vakhtangov prima Julia Rutberg began her solo performance, surrounded by portrait works of the people’s artist.

The author’s program is represented by a collection of poems, essays, songs and romances by the actress’s favorite poets. The actress spoke to the audience with poems and songs by Vadim Levin, Pavel Kogan, Naum Korzhavin, Leonid Martynov, Pavel Antokolsky, Bulat Okudzhava, Alexander Vertinsky, Anna Akhmatova, David Samoilov. A separate speech is an essay about Pushkin, in which a true Vakhtangov woman, winner of the “Seagull” and “Crystal Turandot” awards, People’s Artist of Russia, holder of the Order of Glory to the Nation, Yulia Rutberg told an instructive story about why Pushkin is “Our ALL!” .

“Creating this program, I turned to my childhood. I think you will agree that one of the most pressing problems today is the lack of reading. We have little time to read, and sometimes children do not want to read at all. I’m talking about prose, and what can we say about poetry. You can press the buttons on phones and tablets and get information about any book, but it will be a surrogate, chewing gum, a summary of “War and Peace”, “Master and Margarita”, that is, not the children’s own thoughts about great works, not their communication with them because a book is an interlocutor. I cannot agree with this. As for poetry, it is work, it is rhyme, music, the architecture of poetry. You have to learn poetry by heart. Poems have entered my life since childhood and have become a necessity. In “Cabaret” Stray Dog “I tell in verse about my childhood, adolescence, youth. This program traces the line of my life. I talk about what I like, what gods I pray to, what I deny and do not accept, what pleases me, ”Yulia presented her solo performance so beautifully.

In the Cabaret Stray Dog, Alexey Voronkov, a pianist and laureate of international and all-Russian competitions, helped Rutberg convey the poetic word to the audience.

Every poem and song has a reason and a story that precedes the reading. An incredibly talented artist, who lives extremely sharply and honestly on stage, subtly and elegantly conducted a dialogue with the audience, who filled all the seats in the hall.

Yulia Ilyinichna is the “white angel” of the Russian language.
