WhatsApp will be able to use two accounts on one device

In the WhatsApp messenger (owned by Meta, a company recognized as extremist in the Russian Federation), it will be possible to use two accounts on one device. This is stated in the official blog applications.
“Now you can use two WhatsApp accounts at the same time – for example, personal and work. This means you no longer have to sign out every time you change accounts, carry two phones with you, or worry about accidentally sending a message from the wrong account,” says the announcement of the new feature.
In order to create a second account, you will need an additional phone number and a SIM card. A phone that supports multiple SIM cards or eSIM will do. At the same time, as detailed in the WhatsApp blog, privacy and notification settings can be configured separately for each account.
On September 13, 2023, WhatsApp launched its Channels feature globally in more than 150 countries. After updating WhatsApp, Roskomnadzor announced the threat of blocking the messenger if it begins to expand its functionality towards the mass dissemination of information, which is why Meta refused from launching channels for Russian users. Meta’s products have been blocked in Russia since March 2022, but the Prosecutor General’s Office made an exception for WhatsApp, explaining that the messenger is a means of communication, not public dissemination of information.
