The Ministry of Construction commented on the introduction of AI into its work

The formation of an expert group on the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms in the work of the Ministry of Construction is under development. A ministry representative told Vedomosti about this.

The department explained that to create it, first of all, it is necessary to assess the distribution of AI technology in the industry and identify the most “progressive” market participants from the point of view of potential AI users.

It is clarified that the Ministry of Construction, together with JSC “DOM.RF» is already implementing AI within the framework of the Unified Information System for Housing Construction. Innovations make it possible to perform a predictive analysis of the probabilistic failure to complete commissioning of objects over a one-and-a-half-year horizon, analyze photographs of the progress of construction of objects, and also assess the probabilistic default of the developer.

“A relatively new direction is the introduction of AI into the departmental project “Smart City”; also among promising projects is the introduction of video analytics systems at construction sites (“safe construction site”),” concluded the Ministry of Construction.

Following a meeting of the headquarters for monitoring the implementation of instructions from the president and government on the development of AI technologies, which took place on October 9, it was decided that expert groups would appear in the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Construction and the Ministry of Transport, which would deal with the issues of introducing AI algorithms in specialized industries. The groups will be formed with the participation of the Ministry of Digital Development and the Alliance in the field of AI. Expert groups must be formed by November 15, 2023.
