Thanks to the passwordless authentication system (passkey), you can log in using a fingerprint (Touch ID), face scan (Face ID) or PIN code.
A new menu for setting up passkeys has arrived in the latest beta version of WhatsApp for iPhone. The feature is currently not working, but is expected to be enabled soon. A similar function for Android devices has been available since October 2023.
The passkey standard is currently being actively developed among technology companies and is considered much more secure than regular passwords. Previously social network X (formerly Twitter) and Amazon added opportunity Login to your accounts without a password. Google also started suggest users to set authentication without passwords (passkey) by default. WhatsApp has started testing a new feature that will allow users to log in in the service via email.
