The TikTok video service is testing a new feature that will allow users to immediately identify products in user videos and provide links to their pages in the TikTok Shop. About it reports Bloomberg, citing a statement from a company representative.

Users reported the first tests of this feature back in September 2023. Currently, the “find similar products on TikTok Shop” option is only available in the US and partly in the UK. Creators will have to go through a special approval process for their products on TikTok, and the products themselves will have to be listed on the TikTok Shop. Thanks to automatic identification of goods, e-commerce opportunities on the service will significantly expand: TikTok is going to increase sales in the US to $17.5 billion in 2024 alone.

TikTok also started Incentivize Creators to Post Long Horizontal Videos: The platform’s guidelines now state that TikTok promotes horizontal videos longer than a minute within the first 72 hours of release.
