WhatsApp users (owned by Meta, which is recognized as extremist and banned in Russia) now have the ability to block calls from unknown contacts. This was announced by Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, transmits business today.
“Now you can automatically mute incoming calls from unknown WhatsApp contacts for even more privacy and control,” he said.
Thanks to the new feature, users will be protected from unwanted spam calls, scammers and other unknown callers. It is clarified that calls from such users will not be received on phones, but will still be displayed in the call log.
To activate this function, you need to go to the “Settings” of the messenger, go to the “Privacy” section and in “Calls” select the option “Mute for unknown numbers”. This option is available to users in Russia, the Vedomosti correspondent was convinced.
