What should children be protected from?

For example, our dads and moms calmly let us play in the yards. Today, the yard is fraught with many dangers: from the attack of a maniac to the collision of a reckless motorist. What to do? Keeping kids in front of a computer screen, and then being surprised that our networks (Internet) dragged a dead man?

Teen violence is on the rise. The last bell holiday has just thundered in schools. In one of the schools, a graduate stabbed a classmate in the neck with a knife. The event got into the media. I can imagine the horror experienced by the graduates of this school. The holiday was poisoned for them. Years later, that’s all they’ll remember.

Of course, there are plenty of reasons for the increase in teenage aggression, including the lack of early diagnosis and timely treatment of neuropsychiatric diseases that dominate among children and adolescents. In addition, it is the neuroticism of adults themselves, transmitted to children. Indeed, today many adults are clearly lost in the three ideological pines.

Here are the three pines:

– nostalgia for the lost paradise, which is represented by the USSR;

– shock from the unknown future;

– panic from the multidirectional propaganda of “ours” and “not ours.”

Fear, suspicion, aggression are literally dissolved in the socio-psychological atmosphere of society. It follows that we all adults need restraint.

But there is another, purely pedagogical reality, which should always be remembered. Psychologists and educators have the concept of “emotional intelligence”. The fact is that not everything in the world is known by the brain; many essential things are comprehended by the heart. It is no coincidence that the expression “memory of the heart” exists.

In fact, we are talking about the development of empathy, or, to put it simply, emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence is the human ability to feel the situation very correctly and sensitively, to understand the desires of others, to be resistant to stress and the influence of negative emotions. No wonder our great poet said: “Learn to rule yourself.”

Among other things, the ability of a person to perceive and own their own emotions affects the ability to work in a team and capture the mood of colleagues. A person can develop his emotional intelligence throughout his life.

Adults, as a rule, rely on the development of mental intelligence in children and chase their high IQ. Meanwhile, the spiritual dullness of sophisticated intellectuals is a deadly disease. To preserve the moral compass, without which the ability to distinguish good from evil is lost, is, in my opinion, the priority task of today. Including the task of security. Its solution requires maintaining in oneself and in children the Joy of the Spirit.

Yes, the surrounding reality sometimes depresses us, but this is not a reason to hang our noses and sprinkle ashes on our heads. Let me remind you that in Christianity the most terrible sin is the sin of despondency. I am convinced that every event, every stage of school life should be colored with light breathing, inseparable from mild irony.

When there are only a few days left before passing the exam, it is mainly not the graduates who have to calm down, but adults, which was reflected in the very first issue of the skit on the Last Call.

To the tune of the famous song “And we are not dreaming of the roar of the cosmodrome …” (after all, this year is the anniversary of the launch of the world’s first woman, cosmonaut V. Tereshkova), graduates sing to their mothers and grandmothers:

The whole country is in anxiety.

All mothers are excited

in excitement all mothers,

We hand over all the exams, but life is one.

However, the school

It’s no secret that on the eve of exams teenagers are the most screwed up by their parents. “If you don’t pass the exam, you’ll go to work as a janitor!” Such statements are not uncommon. Meanwhile, it is they who neuroticize graduates on the eve of a crucial event in their lives.

Which position is the only correct one at this time? Always be on the child’s side. As for the text of the parent accompanying this position, it is simple, it cannot be simpler: “I love you and will love you, regardless of the results of the exam. A bright, beautiful life lies ahead, and we will overcome any difficulties as soon as we are together.”

As you wish, but I cannot imagine that in such an atmosphere anyone would feel hatred, let alone throw a knife at a comrade. As you know, love is most often answered with love.
