Weather in Moscow beats century-old records

Abnormal heat in the capital will last until Friday, August 26. According to weather forecasts, the peak temperatures will reach August 24 and 25, when the thermometers in the capital will rise to +33 degrees, and in the region even up to +35 degrees in the shade.

According to the Russian Hydrometeorological Center, hot weather in the capital region was brought by a high anticyclone filled with a very warm air mass.

“In the coming days, the weather will be mostly dry. The consequence of this remains a high class of fire danger, ”the Hydrometeorological Center of the Russian Federation said in a statement.

On August 24, up to 33 degrees of heat is expected in Moscow, at night the temperature will drop to 13-19 degrees, in the city center – up to 20-22 degrees. The same weather will continue on Thursday, August 25.

As Yevgeny Tishkovets, a leading employee of the Phobos weather center, said the other day, there has not been such weather in the capital for 125 years. According to the forecaster, some decrease in temperature can be expected on August 26.

“On Friday, after a cold atmospheric front, fleeting refreshing rains and thunderstorms will arrive, which will bring down the daytime temperature in Moscow to +26…+28, in the region to +25…+30,” — wrote Tishkovets in his telegram channel.

Doctors advise in hot weather, especially during its peak midday hours, to spend as little time as possible in the open sun. In the capital, you can comfortably wait out the heat in social service centers equipped with air-conditioned cool rooms and coolers with drinking water.
