Oil spill response: RussNeft conducted large-scale exercises

The oil company “RussNeft” held large-scale exercises in the Saratov region. Emergency services trained to localize and eliminate spills of oil and oil products.
The exercises took place near the village of Stepnoe, Sovietsky municipal district of the Saratov region, where the production facilities of the enterprise are located. Such trainings are held every three years, as they are large-scale in terms of the amount of forces and resources involved.
According to the press service of the company, during the exercises, the skills of carrying out emergency rescue and other urgent work to localize and eliminate oil spills with oil entering a water body during depressurization of an oil pipeline were practiced. Employees of the Saratov branch, as well as employees of the Saratov territorial division of the Volga ECOSPAS Center and the fire and rescue unit were involved in the work.
A qualified commission assessed the correctness and coherence of the actions of the participants in the exercises. It includes representatives of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Saratov Region, the Ministry of Nature and Ecology of the Saratov Region, territorial bodies of Rosprirodnadzor and Rostekhnadzor, as well as a representative of the local administration.
After passing through all the stages, the commission highly appreciated the contribution of each of the participants. The verdict is that the operating organization Saratov branch of PJSC NK RussNeft is ready for actions to contain and eliminate spills of oil and oil products.
