Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said that the government will continue to do everything possible so that the children of participants in the military operation in Ukraine can study in the best universities. The Prime Minister said this in a conversation with students whose parents are participating in hostilities in Ukraine.
“We are all proud of your parents. And blessed memory to your dad, who died defending the country, the Motherland… On the instructions of the president, we will continue to do everything possible so that the children whose parents and relatives are defending our country can study in the best universities,” said Mr. Mishustin (quote from TASS).
In May 2022, Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree on a special quota for SVO participants and their children entering universities. Universities allocate 10% of the total number of budget places for bachelor’s and specialty programs to them. Under this benefit, the applicant is admitted without entrance examinations. At the moment, mobilized, career military personnel and volunteers have the status of SVO participant.
September 5 Ministry of Education and Science published a draft order providing for free admission to preparatory courses at universities for participants in the Russian military operation in Ukraine and their children.
