“We need two or three roofs in a deserted place”: an analysis of the attack on Pskov appeared

The drones that attacked the airport in Pskov on the night of August 29-30 could have started from the territory of Estonia – such a version spread through telegram channels the morning after the raid. There is no official confirmation yet, but the hypothesis itself is already frightening. After all, then it turns out that Estonia, a NATO country, attacked Russia. Is there a Baltic trace in the night raid on Pskov and what should be Moscow’s response, MK discussed with experts.

Last night was marked by the largest drone attack on Russian territory since the beginning of the NWO. Seven regions of the country reported raids. In Pskov, the target of the drones was a military airfield. Four Il-76 military transport aircraft were damaged as a result of the attack and the fire that began after it. The regional Ministry of Emergency Situations confirmed the fact of fire on the sides, without specifying their exact number.

Rumors circulated on the Internet that the drones could have arrived from the territory neighboring Estonia from the Pskov region. There are no official confirmations or denials in this regard yet. However, military experts and political scientists believe that the version has a right to exist.

If the drones at the Pskov airfield really started from Estonia, this was most likely an act of arbitrariness by some “political hooligans”, and not a planned operation by the Baltic country’s defense ministry. This assumption was put forward by a political scientist Sergey Markov. The expert also did not rule out that the US and British intelligence services could be behind the attack.

– If the Estonian trace is confirmed, Moscow will have the right to launch a missile attack on Tallinn. Article 5 of the NATO Charter will not work in this case. She talks about collective defense in case of aggression. And here we have the aggression of Estonia and a retaliatory strike from Russia in order to protect its territory,” Markov explained.

If the Estonian track in the case of the raid on Pskov is promoted, official Tallinn may begin to deny its involvement in every possible way. If it doesn’t work out, the Estonians can say something like this: “Ukrainian saboteurs penetrated us, we have nothing to do with it.”

– We can say that since Ukrainian terrorists have penetrated the territory of Estonia, it means that Estonia does not control its territory. And we have no claims specifically against Estonia. We have claims against the terrorists, and we see the need to launch an operation to capture and neutralize them. Including by force methods,” Markov suggested.

The expert believes that Moscow should work ahead of the curve and declare in advance that if solid evidence of Tallinn’s involvement in the attack is obtained, the consequences will be just that – harsh and forceful.

“If this is a CIA provocation, then as soon as we announce our intention to respond, the CIA themselves will call the Estonians through their own channels and say that they have completely gone crazy there,” the analyst suggested.

Head of the Bureau of Military-Political Analysis Alexander Mikhailov also believes that the first place from where they will “arrive” in Estonia, if the version with their involvement in the attack on Pskov is confirmed, is from Washington.

– This is a serious set-up for the entire NATO bloc. For the US, such actions are unacceptable. When fragments of a rocket fell on Poland, damaged a tractor and killed two people, Washington immediately took a position that Moscow was not involved. Behind the “big puddle” they are very afraid of Russian strategic nuclear weapons. They have no means of protection against him,” Mikhailov explained.

The expert called the version that the military-political leadership of Estonia was behind the raid untenable, and such a scenario was unbelievable. Possible, but also unlikely, he considers the version with the penetration of a group of Ukrainian saboteurs on Estonian soil.

– Perhaps they were some kind of “drone experts” – Russophobes. But on the border with Estonia, we have air defense / missile defense and electronic warfare systems. Crossing the border by an aircraft is easy to track. And since several drones were flying, with which several operators worked, it would be even easier to fix this, the analyst is sure.

According to Mikhailov, the attack could have been carried out by the “deep” agents of the SBU from the territory of Russia. In this regard, he called on the population of the Russian Federation to increase vigilance.

– To crank out such an operation, you need two or three roofs in a deserted place in an abandoned industrial zone. The SBU agents live among us, they are assimilated, they go to work, to shops. You have to be vigilant,” the expert said.

Member of the Association of Military Political Scientists, Head of the Department of Political Analysis and Socio-Psychological Processes of the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics Andrey Koshkin assured that if the Estonian trace is confirmed, it will become an unequivocal casus belli – a reason for declaring war. At the same time, Russia should not be afraid of Article 5 of the NATO Charter.

– The 5th article does not assume that everyone will immediately begin to fight with all their fire capabilities. NATO countries are not going to fight. Article 5 of the Charter of the Alliance is interpreted very differently. In particular, it assumes that the other members of the bloc should provide informational support to the warring country,” Andrey Koshkin explained.
