Satellite data: water is gradually returning to the Kakhovka Reservoir

As the Ukrainian agency Strana reports on Telegram, citing satellite data, water gradually began to return to the Kakhovka reservoir.

“The arrival of water can presumably be explained by the spring melting of snow, which brought additional moisture to the lower reaches of the Dnieper,” the report says.

Let us recall that in June 2023, the authorities of the Kherson region reported an attack by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the facilities of the Kakhovka hydroelectric power station. As a result of the shelling, 11 of the 28 spans of the station were destroyed, uncontrolled water discharge began, and the hydroelectric dam was undermined. 35 settlements and territories fell into the flood zone.
