State Duma deputy Anatoly Wasserman proposed to fight the drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with a chain-link mesh
State Duma deputy Anatoly Wasserman proposed a simple solution to combat Ukrainian drones for the time being, until air defense systems are developed that can withstand them.
In his opinion, you can still get by with a chain-link mesh, writes Rostov Gazeta.
Wasserman explained that a new generation of systems with greater sensitivity is being developed, but so far this is far from being solved, since one problem has not been solved: “highly sensitive radars can be too suspicious and even react to birds.”
At the same time, as the deputy noted, strikes with the help of drones are unlikely to cause much damage, but if they hit, for example, an oil tank, the consequences can be catastrophic.
Therefore, important objects, according to Wasserman, need to be covered with a chain-link mesh. This can be done “even in artisanal conditions at a great distance from the object itself,” he said. And then “even if the drone explodes on the grid, its fragments would not damage the protected object,” he said.
