WADA: RUSADA still does not comply with the anti-doping code

The Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) still does not comply with the requirements of the World Anti-Doping Code, and therefore cannot claim reinstatement. This statement was made by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) on Friday, September 22.

WADA explained this by inconsistencies in Russian legislation identified during an audit in September 2022 – they allegedly have not yet been eliminated.

Earlier it was reported that the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) would ban Russian athletes fly under the country’s flag at the Olympic and Paralympic Games, as well as at the World and European Championships, if the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) does not meet the criteria for compliance with the World Anti-Doping Code.

Deputy head of the United Russia faction in the State Duma of the Russian Federation Evgeny Revenko proposed RUSADA file a claim with the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to WADA with a demand for reinstatement of rights. According to the politician, “officials from WADA do not want to communicate with us and speak the same language.”
