In Russian football, for the second season in a row, the FAN-ID system has been in place, tested at the World Cup matches held in 2018. Since 2022, this system began to be gradually implemented at Mir-RPL matches, and with the beginning of 2023 it acquired widespread status and now works at the stadiums of each of the clubs in the top division of Russian football. Active fans have declared a boycott and are only attending Russian Cup matches, and the stands at all stadiums are empty.
There are no plans to introduce fan passports in the Second League. Attendance in the third strongest division of Russian football is already low, and the introduction of FAN-ID could lead stadiums to complete desolation. Football is loved in Ivanovo, and Tekstilshchik matches attract a huge number of fans in the stands in any weather and with poor results.
Tekstilshchik footballer Alexey Evseev spoke about the fan passport.
“My wife and two small children, I came to the MFC and filled out this document. The process took only 20 minutes, but why is it being done at all? Recently, a fan of one RPL club poured beer on a journalist, and, apparently, there were no sanctions against him applied. Why unnecessary difficulties when visiting the stadium? On the other hand, the registration process did not take me much time,” said Evseev.
