WADA in 2022 reduced control over RUSADA due to the suspension of Russian athletes

The World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) in 2022 has reduced control over the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) and Russian athletes compared to 2021. This is stated in the WADA annual report on compliance with the World Anti-Doping Code (.pdf).
The reason for the decrease in control over RUSADA was the ban on the admission of Russian athletes to international competitions due to hostilities in Ukraine, as well as the ban on holding any international sporting events in Russia.
However, in its report, WADA notes that monitoring the process of bringing RUSADA into compliance with the code remains a priority for the agency. But at present, RUSADA still does not comply with the code.
The WADA leadership for the restoration of RUSADA will have to assess whether the necessary conditions have been met. After they are completed, their assessment will be carried out by the Code Compliance Committee. If he agrees with the opinion of the WADA leadership, he will make a recommendation to the meeting of the executive committee of the agency.
December 9, 2019 WADA acknowledged RUSADA does not comply with the World Anti-Doping Code. The reason for this was the manipulation of laboratory data and doping tests of Russian athletes discovered by WADA experts. During the period of disqualification, Russian athletes could not compete in major competitions, and Russia could not host and qualify to host tournaments.
In order to restore the status of compliance with the World Anti-Doping Code, RUSADA had to fulfill a number of conditions. It was reported that one of the criteria not met is the fact that the anti-doping code has not been implemented into Russian laws. WADA notedthat there will be no automatic restoration of RUSADA rights. As a basis for extending the suspension of the Russian side, the agency also indicated case of figure skater Kamila Valieva. In January, the RUSADA disciplinary committee released Valieva from liability for a positive test.
