Vucic says there will be no recognition of Kosovo

Serbia does not recognize the self-proclaimed Republic of Kosovo, President Aleksandar Vucic wrote on social networks following a meeting with representatives of the EU, Germany and France.
“Talk about the future of Serbia, there will be no recognition of Kosovo! Right now we are talking with the EU Special Representative for the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina and other regional issues of the Western Balkans Miroslav Lajcak and with advisers on foreign and security policy of France and Germany Emmanuel Bon and Jens Pletner, we are always ready for compromise solutions, in accordance with the Serbian constitution and Security Council resolution 1244 United Nations,” he wrote.
At the end of August, the head of European diplomacy, Josep Borrell, announced the settlement by Serbia and the partially recognized Republic of Kosovo of differences over the movement of citizens across the border. He reported that Serbia had agreed to abolish travel/entry documents for Kosovo ID holders and Kosovo committed itself not to introduce them for Serbian ID holders.
At the end of July, the situation in Kosovo escalated due to the decision of Pristina to abandon the use of Serbian documents. Vucic then said that Pristina plans to invalidate Serbian documents in Kosovo.
In turn, the Pristina authorities said that all Serbs entering the unrecognized entity would receive a temporary border crossing document. This announcement was made in response to Belgrade’s unwillingness to recognize certificates issued in Kosovo.
