Biden confirms trip to Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral

The President of the United States answered the question of journalists about whether the media reports that he decided to fly to the UK for the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II are true.

“Yes. I don’t know the details yet, but I will go,” he said.

At the same time, earlier the press secretary of the American administration, Karine Jean-Pierre, evasively answered this question at a briefing. She said that there is a certain process, an official protocol, according to which leaders are invited, so the White House will not get ahead of that protocol.

So far, Buckingham Palace has not officially announced the date of the Queen’s funeral.
