Vučić called the price of Russian gas fantastic

Serbia annually buys 2 billion cubic meters of gas from Russia, providing 63% of the country’s gas needs, but imports it at a “fantastic” price, President of the Republic Aleksandar Vucic said in an address to citizens.

According to Vučić, the country consumes 3.2 billion cubic meters every year. m of gas, most of this volume is supplied by Russia at an average price of $400 per 1,000 cubic meters of gas.

“We pay for 63% of our needs, 800 million euros. It’s a fantastic price.” said he (quoted by Pecat).

Additional 1.2 bcm m of gas would cost the republic 4.8 billion euros if it were bought at current prices. “It means bankruptcy. We were lucky that we bought gas earlier, as if we knew,” Vučić said.
