VTsIOM survey recorded increasing public trust in police officers in their region. For the second year in a row, the indicator remains at its highest level since the beginning of observations. In 2022, 62% of respondents trusted police officers, in 2023 – 66%, including one in five (19%) – “with complete confidence.” For comparison: in 2012, when such a survey was conducted for the first time, only 3% of respondents spoke of complete trust.
It is noteworthy that young people trust the police the most (85% versus 66% on average for the sample). Also, highly wealthy citizens (75% versus 48% in the group with more modest income) and those employed in budgetary organizations (78% versus 65% among employees of commercial organizations) more often declared trust.
