VTsIOM: 52% of Russians supported free downloading of films

More than half of Russians (52%) believe that downloading films, music and books from the Internet should be free. About it testify survey data from the All-Russian Center for the Study of Public Opinion (VTsIOM).
As a result of the survey, it became known that 34% of respondents are confident that the authors of films, music and books should be paid for the use of their products.
52% of Russians, on the contrary, thought that paying for it was wrong. Together, 39% of respondents believe that once content appears in the public domain, the author cannot prohibit users from using it for free.
The all-Russian telephone survey “VTsIOM-Sputnik” took place on September 10 this year among 1,600 adult citizens of the Russian Federation. The maximum sampling error with a probability of 95% is no more than 2.5%.
