Voting for the Russian name of the Face Pay service began in Moscow

Started on the Active Citizen portal vote for the Russian name for the fare payment service in Moscow transport using the Face Pay facial recognition system.
“A new name for the Face Pay service. An alternative name in Russian will be chosen for the facial recognition fare payment technology,” the voting description reads.
The Muscovites themselves proposed to come up with a name, who sent more than 1,000 options to Telegram via the deptrans chat bot. Five of them were put to the vote: “Pay with a smile”, “Biometric payment system”, “Face of Moscow”, “Payment with a look” and “Look”. Citizens can also vote for the option “This should be decided by experts.” The author of the name that gets the most votes will receive as a prize the opportunity to travel for free on biometrics for three years.
Face Pay has been launched at metro stations since October 15, 2021. You can connect to it in the Moscow Metro app. Since September 3, the system has been launched in test mode at all stations of the Moscow Central Circle. According to statistics from the Moscow Department of Transport, more than 190,000 citizens use Face Pay.
On July 26, Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of the capital, said that it is planned to scale up payment using Face Pay: in the future it will also be available for passengers of regular river routes, and the possibility of using it in Aeroexpress is also being considered.
