“Flammable” left the 29-year-old goalkeeper Alexei Gorodovoy due to the fact that his contract expired. This was announced on June 20 by the press service of the Voronezh football club.
On his page Gorodovoy wrote: “There was everything from the bitterness of defeat to the sweetness of victories. Thanks to everyone who was involved in this, and this is all without exception: coaches, players, staff, management and, of course, fans. We gave a holiday to this city a year ago, and this year we extended it, remaining in the RPL in spite of everything! My contract ended, I gave my all without a trace … Now even emotions are gone. I do not know how my fate will develop in the future, and where I will find myself. So, I don’t want to say goodbye, but I say – see you next season!”
The team, in turn, thanked Alexei for everything he did for the club: “You are part of the Fakel history! Thank you for the selfless game, professionalism, openness, kind attitude towards the fans.”
