International “Silk Road” will be held from Kazan on July 5

The rally-raid will cover over five thousand kilometers in 13 regions.
From the capital of Tatarstan, the Silk Way International Rally-Raid will begin on July 5: the route of the highest category of complexity will pass through thirteen regions, its length is 5,421 kilometers, 2,278 of them are special stages, Tatar-inform news agency reports.
It is no coincidence that Tatarstan was chosen as the start of the route: it is recognized as one of the main centers of motor sports in Russia. The rally is supported by Rais of the Republic Rustam Minnikhanov and the Government of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Administrative and technical checks will be held on the territory of the Ak Bars Arena on July 5-6, and test races will take place a day earlier near the village of Shali, Pestrechinsky district.
The opening ceremony of the race will be held near the walls of the Kazan Kremlin, on Millennium Square. A festive program awaits guests before the start: musical groups, choreographic numbers dedicated to the upcoming rally, the hospitality of the Tatar people. They will remind you of the 10th anniversary of the Kazan Universiade, present moto and quad freestyle tricks, a rally town and other events.
7 categories will take part in the rally: trucks, SUVs, motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, ATVs, Grand Tour “Small Towns of Russia” in the new motorcycle category for participants without experience – Adventure Trophy.
The favorites will start fighting on July 7 at the first stage of the race: the high-speed section will pass through the territory of Tatarstan. The special section starts from the lake near the village of Derzhavino, Laishevsky District, its length is 142 kilometers – to the village of Katmysh, Mamadyshsky District.
From the hospitable Tatarstan, the rally participants will move to fight for the “White Tiger” – the main prize of the winners of the Silk Way International Rally this year, the organizers said.
The rally will end in ten days, on July 15th.
