Voronezh “Torch” in “Luzhniki” defeated “Spartak” and celebrates a historic victory

On Sunday, March 10, at the capital’s Luzhniki Stadium, a match took place between the Voronezh Fakel and the capital’s Spartak, which took place as part of the 20th round of the World of the Russian Premier League.

The starting whistle from Artem Lyubimov sounded at 19.00. Belenov, Cherov, Senkhadzhi, Bozhin, Masternoy, Mendel, Kvekveskiri, Alshin, Magal, Markov and Appaev entered the field as the main players of the “flammable” team. On the bench one could see Gudiev, Ivlev, Yurganov, Kalinin, Poyarkov, Sele, Bagamaev, Bagatelia, Motspan, Akbashev and Maksimov.

At the very beginning of the first half, the home team created a dangerous situation at the Fakel goal, but our defenders managed to defuse the situation and clear the ball. A minute later, the “flammable” responded with their dangerous attack. After a cool pass from Kvekveskiri, Appaev took a shooting position, but, unfortunately, he failed to score – the ball touched the net from the outside.

Another attack involving our forward ended in a corner. The Muscovites’ defense coped with the corner play. At the 10th minute

Bozhin made a long pass to Appaev, and Khyzyr managed to cross to Markov. Evgeniy managed to strike, but the ball went wide of the goal.

In the 25th minute, the Spartak players organized a quick attack on our goal and Medina even struck. However, Belenov calmly took the ball. On the 34th, a controversial situation arose, VAR had to be reviewed for a violation in the home team’s penalty area, after which a penalty was awarded against Spartak. And, lo and behold! Evgeniy Markov scored the first goal of this match in the 38th minute. You should have seen how the fans rejoiced!

In the last minute of the match, Masternoy scored in his own penalty area and managed to intercept a dangerous pass. As a result, the chief referee added 3 minutes to the first half, but the score remained unchanged – 0:1 in favor of Fakel.

The second half began with a substitution – Andrei Mendel was replaced by Thabo Sele. In the 61st minute there was a good serve from Cherov from the flank, but Spartak’s defense was able to cope. But in the 66th minute, “Fakel” already began to win with a score of 0:2, after a Muscovite player cut the ball into his own goal.

In the 67th minute, two substitutions took place – Kalinin came on instead of Cherov, and Akbashev came on instead of Alshin. Another double substitution occurred 10 minutes later – Yurganov entered the game instead of Magal, and Motpan replaced Appaev.

In the 85th minute, Kvekveskiri found Akbashev in the penalty area – and Roman shot powerfully! Maksimenko passed the ball for a corner. The 6 minutes added to the second half did not change the score, “Fakel” ended the match with a clear victory – the match ended with a score of 0:2. Today, both fans and players will celebrate the historic victory at Luzhniki, for which we congratulate our players!
