Hockey players from Nizhny Novgorod “Torpedo” finished the fight for victory in the playoffs of the Gagarin Cup. The team from Nizhny Novgorod showed different results during the 2023-2024 season and gave its fans a whole range of emotions, ranging from joy to complete disappointment. At first, Torpedo was the leader in the Western Conference, showing excellent results, but after the New Year holidays there was a decline. Igor Larionov’s team began to lose often and as a result dropped to 7th place, ending up in the first round of the playoffs at SKA.

The series against SKA went much better for the Torpedo hockey players than many expected. In the first match, Igor Larionov’s team won, and then the army team came to their senses and showed their superiority, but without devastating scores. In the final match of the series, the red-blues won with a score of 3:0, summing up the confrontation. The series of 1/8 finals of the Gagarin Cup between Torpedo and SKA ended with the victory of the representatives of St. Petersburg with a score of 4:1.
